The island has experienced strong growth in international arrivals in recent months, supported by improved air connectivity, favourable visa policies, and continued investment in tourism infrastructure. The ongoing expansion of Phu Quoc International Airport has increased passenger capacity while enabling more direct connections to key regional markets, including South Korea, Hong Kong, Singapore, and Taiwan.
The island’s 30-day visa exemption policy has further strengthened its appeal by offering international visitors a more convenient and seamless travel experience.
Bui Quoc Thai, Director of the An Giang Department of Tourism, noted that Phu Quoc continues to play an important role in elevating the province’s profile on the international stage, strengthening its competitiveness and reputation as one of the region’s leading tourism destinations.
To support the growing number of visitors, local authorities have introduced several initiatives aimed at enhancing the travel experience. These include the establishment of a rapid-response tourism team and the implementation of a tourism code of conduct designed to safeguard visitor rights, respond quickly to incidents, and maintain a safe, transparent, and welcoming destination environment.
