Khanh Hoa’s tourism this year highlights sea and island experiences, particularly at Hon Tre Island, featuring a national flag parade and advanced 3D mapping shows from April 29 to May 1. New promotions and cultural activities are designed to attract travelers, while extended national holidays are expected to boost demand for coastal vacations.
Sea and island tourism takes center stage in Khanh Hoa’s holiday offerings this year, with Hon Tre Island emerging as a key highlight.
From April 29 to May 1, visitors can experience a large-scale national flag parade held daily from 4:30 pm to 5:15 pm. The event will transform the island’s landscape into a striking sea of red, creating a powerful expression of national pride for both domestic and international travelers.
The evening program continues with “Vietnam Pride,” a preshow running from 7:10 pm to 7:20 pm, featuring advanced 3D mapping technology. The performance brings to life iconic imagery such as the red flag with a yellow star, along with symbols of independence and peace. High-altitude fireworks displays at 8:30 pm on April 30 and May 1 will illuminate Nha Trang Bay, serving as a dramatic finale to each day’s celebrations.
In anticipation of the holiday season, tourism operators across the province have introduced a range of promotional programs to attract visitors. Resorts in Vinh Hy Bay are offering discounted room rates, complimentary services for extended stays, and additional incentives for tour guides.

At Long Phu Tourist Area, new experiential activities have been introduced to encourage longer stays, while Yang Bay Park is maintaining stable ticket prices and offering online booking discounts. The park has also refreshed its experience packages for families and students, positioning itself as a key destination for the upcoming summer season.

Nguyen Phi Hong Nguyen, Deputy Head of the Travel Sub-Association under the Khanh Hoa Tourism Association, noted that the growing trend of short-duration travel continues to shape booking patterns. Family groups, corporate clients, and younger travelers are booking earlier, with a focus on beach resorts, inter-regional tours, and flexible “free and easy” packages.
Cost-conscious travelers are increasingly turning to road and rail options, while travel companies are promoting cultural and nature-based experiences in southern Khanh Hoa to diversify offerings.
To ensure a smooth peak season, the provincial Department of Culture, Sports, and Tourism has urged businesses to enhance service quality, upgrade facilities, and strictly maintain safety and security standards. Food safety, product traceability, and environmental protection remain key priorities, alongside efforts to reduce plastic waste and promote responsible tourism.
The holiday period is extended this year due to the proximity of national holidays. Hung Kings’ Commemoration Day falls on Sunday, April 26, with a compensatory day off on Monday, April 27, creating a three-day break from April 25 to April 27. The Reunification Day and International Workers’ Day holidays, falling on April 30 and May 1, combine with the weekend to offer a four-day break from April 30 to May 3.
Together, these extended holidays are expected to drive strong travel demand while reinforcing Khanh Hoa’s position as a leading coastal destination in Vietnam.
