The Agoda 2026 Travel Outlook Report reveals popular uses include personalized itineraries and real-time translation. An openness to AI reflects Vietnam’s digital transformation and a desire for customized travel experiences.
Vu Ngoc Lam, country director for Vietnam at Agoda, said local users are increasingly leveraging AI tools to optimize their journeys. The most popular applications include recommendations for attractions and activities, restaurant suggestions, personalized itinerary creation (30%), and real-time language translation (30%).
The findings highlight a growing shift toward intelligent travel, where flexibility and tailored experiences are prioritized. The report also shows that 86% of respondents either trust or feel neutral about AI-generated information – 28% actively trust it, while 59% remain neutral – suggesting strong potential for wider adoption as AI-integrated solutions become more familiar and accessible.
Vietnam’s rapid digital transformation and expanding technology ecosystem have accelerated AI integration across daily life, from work and education to retail and entertainment. Tourism is following suit, as travelers increasingly turn to digital tools to enhance efficiency and convenience.
Lam noted that the high level of openness among Vietnamese travelers reflects a broader mindset shaped by curiosity, adaptability, and a preference for personalized experiences.
