WHERE TO WATCH NEW YEAR 2026 FIREWORKS IN HANOI AND HO CHI MINH CITY

As Vietnam counts down to the arrival of 2026, Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City will welcome the new year with coordinated fireworks displays across key urban landmarks. The celebrations are designed to be accessible to residents and visitors alike, spreading festive energy across multiple districts rather than concentrating it in a single location.

Hanoi Lights Up Five Districts at Midnight

In the capital, New Year’s Eve fireworks will take place simultaneously at five locations, with a total of six firing positions. Each display will last 15 minutes, starting at 11:45 pm on December 31 and ending exactly at midnight.

Hoan Kiem Ward will feature two firing points, one in front of the Hanoi Moi newspaper headquarters and another in front of the Hanoi Central Post Office, placing fireworks at the heart of the historic city center. Hai Ba Trung Ward will host its display at Dao Dua Island inside Thong Nhat Park, offering a green, open setting for spectators.

In the western part of the city, Tu Liem Ward will launch fireworks from the F1 racetrack complex, while Tay Ho Ward’s display will take place at Lac Long Quan Flower Garden near West Lake. Ha Dong Ward will hold its fireworks show at Van Quan Lake, serving residents in the city’s southwest.

Ho Chi Minh City Combines High and Low Altitude Displays

Ho Chi Minh City will ring in the new year with a 15-minute fireworks program running from midnight to 12:15 am on January 1. The city will organize displays at four locations, including three high-altitude fireworks sites and one low-altitude site.

The high-altitude fireworks will be launched from the entrance area of the Saigon River Tunnel in An Khanh Ward, the central area of the New City in Binh Duong Ward, and Tam Thang Square in Vung Tau Ward. These elevated displays are expected to be visible across wide areas, creating dramatic skylines to mark the start of the year.

The low-altitude fireworks show will take place at Dam Sen Cultural Park in Binh Thoi Ward, offering a closer, more intimate viewing experience, especially suitable for families and local residents.

A Shared Countdown Across Two Cities

With carefully planned locations and synchronized timing, the New Year 2026 fireworks in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City reflect a growing emphasis on inclusive, citywide celebrations. Whether viewed from lakesides, parks, urban plazas, or riverside landmarks, the fireworks will mark the beginning of the new year with light, color, and a shared sense of anticipation for what lies ahead.
