On June 3rd, the Da Nang Department of Tourism held a press conference to announce the “Enjoy Da Nang 2024” program series, including the Opening Ceremony of the Da Nang International Fireworks Festival (DIFF) 2024, and introduced new tourism products
Mr. Ho Ky Minh, Standing Vice Chairman of the Da Nang City People’s Committee, highlighted that in the first five months of 2024, tourism activities continued to grow strongly, marking a significant contribution to the city’s economic development. Numerous activities, events, festivals, and tourism products have been organized, creating a vibrant atmosphere that attracts both domestic and international tourists to Da Nang.
Diverse Tourism Events and Festivals
To diversify tourism products and position Da Nang as Asia’s leading festival and event destination, the city will host several international-scale events. These include the Da Nang International Fireworks Festival, Danang Asian Film Festival, Enjoy Da Nang 2024, Vietnam – Japan Festival, Vietnam – Korea Festival, and the Asian Development Golf Tournament 2024.
The Da Nang International Fireworks Festival, themed “Made in Unity – Global Connection – Radiant Five Continents”, will take place from June 8th to July 13th, 2024. This unique event will create a bustling and vibrant atmosphere, further boosting the city’s global tourism connections.
Da Nang continues to support businesses in organizing events and festivals and developing new tourism products. This summer, the city will open Bach Dang Pedestrian Street and Da Nang Beach Flower Street to meet the diverse demands of both residents and tourists.
The Enjoy Da Nang 2024 festival, heavily invested in by the city, will feature a variety of cultural, entertainment, sports, and culinary activities, along with performances by famous artists and singers. According to Mr. Tan Van Vuong, Deputy Director of the Department of Tourism and Standing Deputy Head of the Organizing Board, the festival will take place from July 17th to 21st, with 14 unique and attractive cultural, sports, and tourist activities.
Highlighted Programs
Notable programs include the opening concert of Enjoy Da Nang 2024 (July 17th), the Vietnamese Flavours – International Culinary Festival, artistic kite performances, a sand festival, sailing performances on the Han River, a traditional culinary experience space (July 17th to 21st), an experiential space for children, a coastal festival, and a series of evening art shows “Enjoy Da Nang”. Other activities include a SUP festival, kite surfing performances, banana boat rides, parachute canoe performances (July 17th and 18th), Zumba dance sessions, and a barefoot running race on the beach.
Visitors can also choose from various tours in the “Enjoy Da Nang” tour program to discover unique tourism products such as the Da Nang City food tour, Son Tra Peninsula discovery tour, festival enjoyment tour, Hoa Vang eco-tour, and waterway tour, all with attractive incentive packages.
Tourism businesses and destinations are introducing new tourism products to attract visitors. Sun World Ba Na Hills will launch world-class shows featuring circus and magic performances throughout the summer, including the Fairy Blossom show, an elaborate grand opera with nearly 300 artists and circus performers.
From June 2024, Asia Park will be rebranded as Da Nang Downtown, offering exciting programs such as jet ski & fly board extreme sports art performances combined with music, lights, skillful dances on the water, and fireworks. Other attractions include circus and magic shows, the “Vietnamese Puppetry” show at Da Nang’s Au O Theater with a capacity of 600 seats, and the Vui Phet Da Nang night market (VUI-Fest) featuring 200 stalls with diverse cuisine, regional specialties, souvenirs, handmade items, and street animation shows.
Vietravel will introduce the “Journey Connecting Heritage and Culinary Experience”. Nui Than Tai Hot Spring Park will host Bai Choi Art Singing of Quang Nam every Thursday to Sunday from June to August 2024 and will explore the secrets of the Jurassic period on July 20th and 21st.
Da Nang Mikazuki Japanese Resorts & Spa will present “Nippon Oi” (Hey! Nippon), the largest anime & cosplay festival in the Central region, in August this year.
At the press conference, the city’s tourism industry and businesses signed cooperation agreements to promote Da Nang tourism in foreign markets.
