With the theme “Made in Unity – Global connection – Radiance on five continents”, Danang International Fireworks Festival (DIFF) 2024 is expected to take place in Da Nang City from June 8 to July 13 and promises to bring residents and tourists eye-catching “light parties” next to the poetically beautiful Han River.
The 2024 DIFF is scheduled to span over a month, running from June 8 to July 13, featuring eight competing teams. 7 international teams including France, Italy, USA, Germany, Poland, China, Finland will compete with the Vietnamese representative team from Da Nang. Among them, Germany, China, and the United States participated for the first time at the festival.
The opening night of DIFF 2024 took place on the evening of June 8 with the theme “Made of Unique Culture – Cultural Essence” and the opening competition between the Vietnamese team and the 2023 defending champion – France. The next nights are competitions between Italian and American teams, on June 15 with the theme “Natural masterpiece”; Germany – Poland June 22, theme “Magical Love”; China – Finland, June 29, theme “Wonderland”. The final night takes place on July 13 with the name “Made of Young Generation – The Beat of the Future”. As in previous editions, each artillery team will have 20 to 22 minutes to showcase their skills.
The opening night and finals of DIFF 2024 are set to be broadcast live on the VTV1 channel at 8:10 p.m. This year, the champion team will be awarded $20,000 along with a trophy and a certificate, while the runner-up team will receive $10,000, along with a trophy and certificate. Additionally, DIFF 2024 will uphold the tradition of presenting the Most Favorite award, as determined by audience votes, worth 5,000 USD.
A representative of the organising committee announced that the upcoming Da Nang International Fireworks Festival will mark its 12th edition along the banks of the Han River. Themed “Global Connection – Radiance on Five Continents,” this year’s festival aims to convey a message of peace, friendship, and humanity while celebrating inspirational values within the community.
Aside from the fireworks performances, DIFF 2024 also has a series of accompanying events from exhibitions to art performances throughout Da Nang. A series of famous tourist and entertainment destinations of the city such as Sun World Ba Na Hills, Asia Park… will host many festivals, music and art events during fireworks season. this year. Expected to open the 2024 fireworks season, the city will entertain visitors with an extreme sports art show Jetski & Flyboards performed by Australian manufacturer H2O.
The previous edition of DIFF, held in the summer of 2023, has become a key event attracting tourists to Da Nang. Statistics show that in the period of June 2023, the total number of visitors served by accommodation establishments is estimated to reach nearly 706,000 – an increase of 34.1% compared to the same month in 2022. Room capacity in this period regularly reaches this level. 70%. Accommodation and food service revenue reached 1,874 billion VND. The number of flights to Da Nang was up to 150 flights per day, 1.5 times higher than normal.
Expecting another successful edition, the organising committee envisions DIFF 2024 as a highlight of the summer tourism season, building Da Nang’s reputation as “Asia’s leading event and festival destination,” as recognised by esteemed accolades like the World Travel Awards.
