Tam Dao Introduces Its First Walking Street, Welcoming Thousands of Tourists

Tam Dao National Tourist Area, located in Tam Dao District, Vinh Phuc, has introduced a new weekly attraction: a walking street open every Friday evening through Sunday evening, as well as on holidays. Launched this April 30th, the opening has already attracted thousands of eager tourists seeking enjoyable experiences.

On April 30th, the People’s Committee of Tam Dao Town officially introduced the walking street along Tay Thien Street. This event coincided with the April 30th – May 1st holiday period, drawing in crowds of enthusiastic tourists keen to take part in the festivities.

Mr. Dang Hoang Lam, Secretary of the Party Committee of Tam Dao Town, announced that the 400-meter-long walking street will be open from 6:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. every Friday, Saturday, Sunday, and on holidays, including Tet (Vietnamese Lunar New Year).

Tam Dao Town hosts its first-ever walking street, complete with a special zone for street music performances.

This walking street will serve as a venue for hosting art exhibitions featuring cultural exchange activities, street music performances, folk dances, magic shows, and showcases highlighting the local culinary culture.

Notably, the People’s Committee of Tam Dao Town will select local specialty and exemplary products from the One Commune One Product Program (OCOP) to present to tourists. This initiative aims to support local residents, production facilities, and product consumption establishments by promoting their goods to a wider audience.

On the first day of opening, the walking street in Tam Dao Town attracted thousands of visitors to experience

Walking street is a new tourism product in Tam Dao town, contributing to attracting tourists to the locality, improving the service quality of tourism products, and promoting the development of the night economy in this locality.

Mr. Dang Hoang Lam also informed that there has been a sudden increase in tourists coming to Tam Dao during the holidays from April 30 to May 1 this year. As estimated, this tourist town welcomes more than 50,000 visitors, of which about 30,000 – 40,000 stay in boarding houses, with the highest concentration from April 28 to April 30.

During the April 30th to May 1st holiday period this year, the People’s Committee of Tam Dao Town deployed traffic police, regular police, and militia to regulate traffic flow and prevent congestion. They also assigned authorities to conduct inspections and ensure that service establishments adhered to listed prices, preventing any exploitation of the holiday season to inflate prices. These efforts aim to enhance the reputation of Tam Dao tourism.
