Meet the community leader: An Nguyen – “We are all limited editions, but don’t limit yourself”

[Meet the Community Leader] Australian Hospitality Alumni Network Vietnam (AHA Vietnam) is pleased to welcome Nguyen Nhat An as our newest community leader. An graduated with the Bachelor of Hospitality Management at ICMS (International College of Management Sydney). She is the former Food and Beverage attendant of The Deck Saigon. Currently, Nhat An is continuing to pursue her passion for the Food and Beverage industry, by studying a chef course at Le Cordon Bleu, Australia. Let’s hear Nhat An’s sharing about Hospitality industry and her learning process

“Why did you choose to study hospitality? and Why did you decide to go back to Vietnam after graduation?”

Since I was studying in high school, I started feeling my passion for food and beverage industry. The more I learns about the industry, the more interested and passionate I becomes with cuisine, and for me, food and beverage like a colorful art picture. Therefore I decided to study hospitality.

About the reason why I came back to Vietnam after graduation, I wanted to turn this pandemic into a potential opportunity to experience and understand Vietnam hospitality, working culture and environment.

“The best advice that you have received?”

During my work, I have met many colleagues and boss that inspired me and given me a lot of advice, so that I can improve myself day by day. My manager once told me: It’s good to make mistakes since nobody is perfect. But you have to learn from those mistakes and avoid going down the same wrong path.

It is known that An gets a lot of inspiration and energy from the quotation: “I think that it is very important if you know what you want, understand where you are heading towards and try your best to get it. It is only when we use our hearts to do it, and fall in love with what we are doing, then can we really get real determination.” – Emma Watson

How does Nhat An see herself in the future?

An honestly shared with AHA Vietnam that her biggest dream is to become a Food and Beverage director and to deliver all of her acquired knowledge as well as inspiration to younger generation through free training course and online platform. With the passion and determination that An has, AHA Vietnam believes that she will achieve the results she desires.
