Meet the Expert: Justin Louey – Vietnam is like a second home to me!

[August 27, 2021] – Meet the Expert: Australian Hospitality Alumni Network Vietnam is delighted to welcome Mr Justin Louey, our Melbourne based member of the Board of Experts. Mr Justin Louey is currently the Front Office Manager at Marriott Melbourne Docklands and a lecture at the William Angliss Institute Australia.

Professional Experiences

Joining Australian Hospitality Alumni Network Vietnam as an Industry Expert, Justin is a Senior Front Office Manager who has a strong work history of more than 10 years with Hilton brand. Justin is now the pre-opening Front Office Manager at the Marriott Melbourne Docklands. Apart from being a full-time hospitality professional, Justin has got his part-time teaching and coordinating role within Higher Education at William Angliss Institute.

Vietnam is like second home and I look forward to coming back soon!

“Vietnam is like second home to me”, said Justin as he was explaining the reasons for having such a strong connection with Vietnam. “I have a strong connection with Vietnam though my experience at the Hilton Hanoi Opera and my wife’s being Hanoian”. While living in Melbourne, he also has the chance to meet with many Vietnamese students at the William Angliss Institute. As a teacher, he also carries an on-going connection with current and past students and the alumni network at the William Angliss. The above reasons have made Vietnam the second home that Justin would always look forward to going back to.

Education Background

There is no doubt to us that ‘Teacher Justin’ was an outstanding student at school. During his Bachelor’s studies at William Angliss Institute, he achieved 3 Dux Awards, 10 High Distinctions and 11 Distinctions for subjects completed throughout the Hospitality and Tourism management course. In 2012, Justin was one of 20 students in the Graduate School of Business and Economics at University of Melbourne to be selected to complete the Global Business Practicum Program in July 2012 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. In 2013, Justin graduated Melbourne University with a Master of Management in Human Resources.

Joining Australian Hospitality Alumni Network

Joining Australian Hospitality Alumni Network as a member of The Board of Experts, Justin believes that with his roles and experience, he would be able to bring expertise in both the hotel and education sectors.

As a teacher, Justin is one of 5 accredited teachers in Australia who is authorized to deliver STR’s Certification of Advanced Hotel Industry Analytics, which enables students to use real life STR data to build research projects. It would be great to have STR’s training courses delivered in Vietnam at some stage. In addition to teaching, Justin has been a frequent guest speaker and industry expert with William Angliss Institute and The Hotel School Australia.
