Ho Chi Minh City has been nominated as one of the eight candidates for the Asia’s Best MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences and Exhibitions) Destination under the World MICE Awards 2021.
The World MICE Awards 2021 is a category of the prestigious World Travel Awards (WTA). Ho Chi Minh city (Vietnam), along with Bangkok (Thailand), Beijing (China), Hong Kong, Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia), Macau, Seoul (South Korea) and Singapore are listed as nominees for ‘Asia’s Best MICE destination 2021’ award.
The World MICE Awards were launched in 2020, aiming to promote the growth and innovation of MICE tourism on a global scale by honouring leading organisations and destinations with fairness and transparency in the rules and voting. Ho Chi Minh City also won the category in 2020.
Recently, Vietnam’s National Airline – Vietnam Airlines was also nominated as Asia’s Best MICE Airline 2021, an award given to the airline that provides impressive services and value for money for group travel. In 2020, under the same category, Vietnam Airlines was honored as the World’s Best MICE Airline.
As for hotel sector, Majestic Saigon Hotel, Intercontinental Saigon, Rex Hotel Saigon, and Vinpearl Luxury Landmark 81 are nominated for “Vietnam’s Best MICE Hotel 2021”.
Saigon Exhibition and Convention Centre (SECC) was nominated for the category of “Vietnam’s Best Convention Center 2021”.

The results will be announced on November 1, 2021. In Vietnam, the MICE tourism form has been exploited by many companies in recent years, gaining positive initial results. Development of MICE market is one of the goals of Vietnamese tourism sector’s development strategy.
