VNAT And Mastercard Deepen Collaboration To Boost Data-Driven Tourism Promotion

On May 27, 2025, Vietnam National Authority of Tourism (VNAT) collaborated with Mastercard to enhance tourism strategies. They reviewed international tourism trends and emphasized data’s role in destination competitiveness. Both parties agreed to expand research, improve marketing efforts, and support Vietnam’s goal of attracting 22-23 million international visitors through digital transformation.

Strengthen connections and promote tourism cooperation between Vietnam and Western Australia

In Perth, Australia, VNAT’s Chairman, Mr. Nguyen Trung Khanh, met with Western Australian tourism representatives, emphasizing Perth’s tourism potential and proposing collaborative efforts to create appealing travel products for Vietnamese visitors. Additionally, bilateral discussions with education and airport entities aimed to strengthen cooperation and promote Vietnamese tourism in Australia.

Vietnam tourism in the first half of 2021

According to UNWTO, international arrivals dropped by 83% in the period January – March 2021 compared to 2020. UNWTO has had reduce its forward of international arrivals for growth scenario in 2021. The General Statistics Office of Viet Nam informed that the number of international arrivals to Viet Nam in first half of 2021 decreased 97.6% over the same period of 2020. Vietnam tourism has made effort to realize the dual goal of drastically responding to the Covid-19 pandemic in the line with resume tourism industry.
