Vietnam’s Sun PhuQuoc Airways launches Nha Trang-Phu Quoc service

Phu Quoc International Airport began commercial flights to Cam Ranh, enhancing travel options in southern Vietnam. The inaugural flight, which operates four times weekly, reduces travel time to slightly over an hour, previously extended by layovers. Both locations experienced significant tourism growth in 2025, highlighting the route’s potential demand.

Phu Quoc International Airport launched its first commercial flight to Cam Ranh. The airport lies in southern Vietnam. Cam Ranh sits in Khanh Hoa’s south-central region.

The flight landed at 3:45 p.m. The return departed Cam Ranh. It arrived in Phu Quoc around 6:00 p.m.

The airline operates four weekly flights on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, and Sundays using Airbus A321NEO aircraft that carry over 170 passengers each. Plans call for daily service as demand rises.

Launch-day flights achieved 90-100% load factors, signaling robust interest in direct travel.

Previously, passengers routed through Hanoi or Ho Chi Minh City, extending journeys considerably.

The route cuts travel time to just over one hour, enabling seamless island-coastal resort combinations. Both destinations posted sharp tourism gains in 2025: Khanh Hoa hosted 16.4 million visitors (5.5 million international), while Phu Quoc drew 8.1 million and generated nearly VND44 trillion (US$1.7 billion) in revenue.
