The annual awards are based on feedback from verified travelers and recognize destinations and travel partners that consistently deliver exceptional hospitality and service.

According to Booking.com, Hoi An topped the list of the country’s 10 most welcoming destinations this year. It was followed by Mai Chau in northern Hoa Binh Province and Cu Lao Thu, also known as Phu Quy Island, in Lam Dong Province.

Other destinations featured in the top 10 include Ninh Binh, Ha Giang, Con Dao, Phong Nha, Da Lat, Phu Quoc, and Cao Bang.

Branavan Aruljothi, country director of Booking.com in Vietnam, noted that a destination’s appeal goes beyond landscapes and cultural heritage to the warmth and sincerity of its people. He highlighted how hosts preserving historic homes in Hoi An, as well as communities in Ha Giang and Mai Chau who welcome travelers into their daily lives, create memorable experiences that stay with visitors long after their journeys end.

Globally, the most welcoming destinations in 2026 include Montepulciano in Italy, which ranked first, followed by Magong in Taiwan, San Martin de los Andes in Argentina, Harrogate in the United Kingdom, and Fredericksburg in the United States.

The Traveller Review Awards 2026 are based on more than 370 million verified traveler reviews worldwide. This year, 1.81 million partners across 221 countries and territories were recognized, marking a five-percent increase from the previous year.

The awards honored 1,817,848 accommodation providers, 1,977 car rental companies, and 137 airport transfer partners globally.

In Vietnam, 13,052 accommodation partners received a Traveller Review Award, reflecting the country’s growing hospitality sector and continued efforts to enhance visitor experiences. However, Vietnam did not rank among the global top 10 countries by total number of award recipients.
