Vietnam’s Ninh Binh welcomes 230,000 international visitors during Lunar New Year holiday

During the Lunar New Year period from February 14 to 19, the province attracted over 1.36 million visitors, generating more than VND2.04 trillion in tourism revenue. Key attractions saw high footfall, particularly Thung Nham Ecotourism Area, which launched the “Songs of Nature” art programme to enhance visitor engagement.

According to the provincial Department of Tourism, the province welcomed more than 1.36 million visitors between February 14 and 19, including nearly 230,000 international arrivals.

Total tourism revenue during the period surpassed VND2.04 trillion (approximately US$78 million), reflecting strong holiday demand.

Major attractions such as Trang An, Hoa Lu Ancient Town, and Thung Nham Ecotourism Area were consistently busy throughout the Lunar New Year holiday. Meanwhile, Thung Ui, an emerging destination, also attracted growing interest from travellers.

Nguyen Thi Yen Thuong, Head of Marketing at Thung Nham Ecotourism Area, told Tuoi Tre newspaper that visitor numbers surged in the first days of the new year. The site welcomed more than 10,000 guests on the third day of Tet, with approximately 15,000 visitors expected the following day.

To enhance the festive experience, Thung Nham launched a new art programme titled “Songs of Nature,” featuring four themed artistic spaces: “The Cricket’s Adventure,” “Wings to the Sun,” “Rebirth,” and “Dance of Flowers.”
