Quang Ngai will celebrate the Lunar New Year with art performances and fireworks at various locations, primarily at Pham Van Dong Square and Square 16/3. Displays will happen from 11:30 pm to 11:45 pm, allowing families to prepare for midnight traditions. Mang Den and Ly Son will also host their own events, generating excitement among visitors.
According to a plan approved by the provincial People’s Committee, Quang Ngai will host New Year’s Eve art performances and fireworks displays at multiple locations to welcome the Lunar New Year.
Fireworks will be launched simultaneously in the province’s eastern and western urban areas, as well as in Mang Den and Ly Son, offering residents and visitors a range of festive viewing options. The two main provincial displays will take place at Pham Van Dong Square in Cam Thanh Ward and at Square 16/3 in Kon Tum Ward.
An official from the provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism said the revised schedule was carefully designed to balance public celebration with traditional customs. Fireworks will run from 11:30 pm to 11:45 pm, followed by New Year greetings from the provincial chairman and wishes from the State President. Concluding the programme before midnight allows people to return home in time for the sacred New Year’s Eve moment, when families gather, prepare offerings and light incense to honour their ancestors.
Mang Den Commune and the Ly Son Special Zone have also been approved to organise their own fireworks displays, with local authorities instructed to coordinate closely with the provincial Military Command to ensure compliance with safety regulations.

The decision has been warmly received by the public, particularly families and young travellers planning to spend the Lunar New Year holiday at these popular destinations. News of fireworks in Mang Den and Ly Son has sparked excitement among travel enthusiasts.
“My family is going to Mang Den for Tet this year,” said Ngoc Bich. “Watching fireworks and welcoming the Lunar New Year there will be a memorable experience for my children.”
With its cool highland climate and pristine scenery, Mang Den has emerged as a favoured retreat during the festive season.

Both Mang Den and Ly Son will host an art programme titled “Quang Ngai Welcomes Spring – Year of the Horse” from 10:00 pm to 11:30 pm on February 16, corresponding to the 29th day of the twelfth lunar month. Fireworks will follow immediately after the performances.
This marks a shift from previous years, when fireworks traditionally began at midnight on the first day of the Lunar New Year.
