Quang Ngai Province will celebrate New Year 2026 with cultural and tourism events from January 1 to 4. Highlights include the vibrant Mang Den Culture and Tourism Week, featuring art performances, a hot-air balloon festival, sports activities, and culinary showcases. Festivities reflecting local heritage occur throughout the province, enhancing its cultural identity.

To welcome New Year 2026, Quang Ngai Province is hosting a series of cultural and tourism events running from January 1 to 4, highlighted by Mang Den Culture and Tourism Week and the cherry blossom season.
Spanning landscapes from highland forests to the open sea, the province enters the new year with renewed development ambitions following the July merger of the former Quang Ngai and Kon Tum provinces. With a well-curated schedule, diverse activities and a harmonious blend of mountain and coastal experiences, the New Year event series creates a festive atmosphere for local communities while offering attractive travel ideas for visitors.

Mang Den at its most vibrant season
On the evening of January 1, Mang Den town centre will host a large-scale art performance featuring gong music, a distinctive cultural heritage of Central Highlands ethnic groups. After more than 90 minutes of performances, an artistic fireworks display will illuminate the sky, marking the arrival of the New Year.
In the days that follow, visitors can take part in the hot-air balloon festival “Flying over Cherry Blossoms”, offering panoramic views of pine forests, lakes and blossom-lined roads. Sports and tourism activities will also take place, including the “Run in the Clouds – Mang Den Trail” race and an open pickleball tournament, catering to outdoor and fitness enthusiasts.
A culinary and OCOP (One Commune One Product) showcase featuring around 80 booths adds further appeal. Visitors can sample Mang Den’s Arabica coffee, watch roasting and brewing demonstrations, join the “Highland Barista” contest and enjoy a range of local specialties.
For families and leisure travellers, light trekking tours to Dak Ke Lake, a 60-year-old pine forest and Khanh Lam Pagoda offer gentle nature-based experiences to start the year.
Celebrations across the province
Beyond Mang Den, New Year festivities are also taking place in Quang Ngai’s urban areas. In Cam Thanh Ward, the art programme “Aspiration of the Open Sea” recreates coastal cultural life and reflects the seafaring spirit of local communities.
Meanwhile, the “Breath of the Great Forest” programme in Kon Tum Ward highlights the beauty of mountain landscapes, ethnic cultures and the vitality of highland regions, completing a province-wide celebration that showcases Quang Ngai’s diverse natural and cultural identity.
