The My Hoa International Kiteboarding Championship will take place from January 15 to 17 at My Hoa Beach, a destination widely regarded as a kiteboarding paradise in the former Ninh Thuan Province, now part of Khanh Hoa. The event will feature male and female competitions across multiple categories, accompanied by side activities that promote local culture, tourism, and environmental awareness. Authorities view the championship as an opportunity to enhance Khanh Hoa’s image and stimulate future tourism, including the expected arrival of cruise ships in 2026.

Experts consider the waters off My Hoa ideal for kiteboarding due to its long, open coastline, consistent winds, and favorable wave conditions throughout the year, making it a popular spot for both professional athletes and visiting enthusiasts.
Beyond competition, the event will include a series of side activities aimed at promoting coastal tourism, showcasing local culture and cuisine, and raising awareness of marine environmental protection and plastic waste reduction.
Tourism officials noted that the championship serves not only as a competitive platform but also as a strategic opportunity to strengthen Khanh Hoa’s destination image, attract domestic and international visitors, and support the development of marine sports tourism aligned with green and sustainable growth goals.

Looking ahead, the provincial tourism sector expects at least 33 cruise ships to arrive in Khanh Hoa in 2026, including major vessels such as Royal Princess, Costa Serena, Coral Princess, Diamond Princess, and Westerdam. These ships will dock at Cam Ranh International Port and Ana Marina Nha Trang, bringing cruise passengers to explore tourism offerings in Nha Trang and Dien Khanh.
