Noi Bai airport hits record international arrivals on final day of New Year holiday

In 2025, Vietnam’s aviation sector recorded a strong recovery, led by established carriers including Vietnam Airlines, Vietjet Air, and Bamboo Airways, alongside the market entry of Sun PhuQuoc Airways (SPA). This momentum was reflected at Noi Bai International Airport, which handled around 115,000 passengers on January 4, representing a 5-10% increase over normal volumes. The launch of new international routes further strengthened Hanoi’s position as a growing regional aviation hub.

This momentum was reflected at Noi Bai International Airport, which handled approximately 115,000 passengers on January 4, the final day of the New Year holiday and the peak of the four-day travel period. International traffic reached a record 50,000 passengers across 330 flights, while domestic travel accounted for around 65,000 passengers on 320 flights.

Overall passenger volumes during the New Year holiday were estimated to be 5-10% higher than normal, underscoring robust travel demand.

On the international front, the winter 2025 flight schedule continued to expand, with several new airlines launching routes to Hanoi, including Hainan Airlines, Shandong Airlines, Etihad Airways, Ethiopian Airlines, and Spring Airlines. At the same time, multiple existing carriers increased flight frequencies, further strengthening Hanoi’s position as a regional aviation hub.
