Mui Ne tops Booking.com 2026 must-visit places worldwide

Mui Ne, a coastal town in Vietnam, has been named the top must-visit destination for 2026 by Booking.com due to its stunning landscapes and red sand dunes. A global survey of travelers highlighted its appeal for scenic escapes, kitesurfing, and fresh seafood, reflecting its rising popularity among international visitors.

The ranking is based on a global survey of 30,000 travelers across 33 countries and territories planning trips within the next 12–24 months. Other destinations on the list include Bilbao (Spain), Barranquilla (Colombia), Philadelphia (USA), Guangzhou (China), Sal (Cape Verde), Manaus (Brazil), Münster (Germany), Kochi (India), and Port Douglas (Australia).

According to Booking.com, around 40% of respondents said Mui Ne aligns with their preference for scenic escapes and the growing “Romantasy Retreats” trend, offering landscapes that feel lifted from a fairytale. Highlights include sweeping red and white sand dunes, traditional fishing villages, and the shallow Fairy Stream, where visitors can stroll barefoot through natural scenery.

Mui Ne’s eight-kilometer coastline is also a hub for kitesurfing and windsurfing, particularly during peak season from October to April, when beach sports clubs and training centers operate at full capacity. Fresh seafood and daily fishing port life further enrich the destination’s coastal charm.

The town’s global profile has been steadily rising. National Geographic Traveler previously named Mui Ne among Southeast Asia’s top water sports destinations, while Lonely Planet ranked it fifth among Vietnam’s “10 Most Beautiful Natural Wonders.” Google’s Year in Search 2025 also placed Mui Ne third among Vietnam’s most-searched destinations, underscoring its growing appeal to international travelers.
