Vietnam has climbed to 16th on TasteAtlas’ 2025 list of the world’s top cuisines, outperforming Thailand, Malaysia, and Singapore. It ranks second in Southeast Asia, after Indonesia. The inclusion of bún bò Nam Bộ and phở bò in the top 100 dishes reflects its growing global culinary recognition.

Vietnam has been ranked 16th on TasteAtlas’ list of the world’s top 100 cuisines for 2025, rising three places from last year and surpassing regional favorites such as Thailand, Malaysia and Singapore, according to the international food magazine.
Within Southeast Asia, Vietnam placed second only to Indonesia, which claimed the 10th spot globally. Thailand followed at 24th, the Philippines at 25th, Malaysia at 29th, while Singapore ranked 90th.
TasteAtlas named Italian cuisine the world’s best this year, followed by Greece, Peru, Portugal and Spain.
Vietnam’s rise on the global culinary map has been further reinforced by the recent inclusion of bún bò Nam Bộ (Southern-style beef noodle) and phở bò (beef noodle soup) in TasteAtlas’ list of the 100 best dishes in the world for 2026.
