Phu Quoc has emerged as the most-searched domestic destination for the upcoming New Year holiday, according to data from Dutch-based travel platform Booking. Searches for the island rose 86% year-on-year, reflecting heightened interest from Vietnamese travelers.
Da Lat ranked second, followed by Ho Chi Minh City in third place based on hotel searches conducted between December 20, 2025 and January 4, 2026. Hanoi placed fourth, and Da Nang completed the top five. The rest of the top 10 included Nha Trang, Vung Tau, Mui Ne, Hoi An and Sa Pa.

Phu Quoc saw a surge in tourist arrivals in 2025. The island welcomed nearly 7.6 million visitors, including 1.6 million international tourists, in the first eleven months of the year, an increase of 35% compared with the same period in 2024, surpassing its full-year target.
Voted Asia’s most beautiful island by readers of Condé Nast Traveler, Phu Quoc had originally aimed to attract 7.25 million visitors in 2025, including 1.2 million from overseas.
The island’s peak travel season runs from October to May, when sunny weather and calm, clear waters make it a popular destination for both domestic and international tourists.
