Hanoi welcomed an unprecedented 30.94 million visitors in the first 11 months of 2025, marking a 22.1% increase year-on-year and the highest figure ever recorded for the capital. Tourism revenue during the period also surged 20.7% to reach VND120.6 trillion (US$4.57 billion).

According to the municipal Department of Tourism, November alone saw 2.5 million visitors, a 14.7% rise compared to the same month in 2024. Among them were 851,100 international tourists, up 25%, while domestic visitors accounted for 1.65 million, rising 10%. The city generated VND11.36 trillion in tourism revenue for the month, a year-on-year increase of 18.4%.
The impressive growth has been credited to Hanoi’s evolving tourism offerings, including refreshed cultural experiences, new events, and large-scale promotional campaigns, especially during the festive year-end period.
Increasing demand has also lifted hotel occupancy, which reached 73.4% in November, up 6.3 percentage points from the previous year.
Hanoi currently boasts 3,761 accommodation establishments, offering more than 71,000 rooms, including 65 hotels and serviced apartments rated from 1 to 5 stars. In addition, 58 certified providers of dining, shopping, entertainment, and wellness services continue to meet the rising expectations of travelers.
The city’s tourism infrastructure is further strengthened by a robust workforce, with 1,921 international travel agencies, 591 domestic firms, 6,898 international tour guides, and 2,620 domestic guides, ensuring service readiness during the peak season.
