Vietnam’s Tourism Sector Accelerates in the Year-End “Golden Season”

Vietnam’s tourism industry is entering its peak “golden season,” with destinations across the country bustling as businesses launch major promotional campaigns to attract both domestic and international travellers. The sector is advancing steadily toward the 2025 goal of welcoming 25 million international visitors.

Strong Growth in International Arrivals

Data from the National Statistics Office shows that nearly 17.2 million international visitors arrived in Vietnam in the first ten months of 2025, an increase of 21.5% year-on-year. Air arrivals reached 14.6 million, accounting for nearly 85% of total international visitors. Arrivals by road and sea also grew, reaching 2.4 million and 205,100 visitors respectively.

Asia remained Vietnam’s largest source market with over 13.6 million visitors, led by the Republic of Korea, China, Japan, and ASEAN countries. Europe ranked second with more than 2.1 million visitors, marking a surge of 34.9%, the fastest growth among all regions, underscoring Vietnam’s expanding global appeal.

Revenue Growth and Destination Highlights

Tourism revenue for the January-October period was estimated at 77.4 trillion VND (2.93 billion USD), an increase of 19.8% compared to the same period last year. Revenue from accommodation and food services also rose 14.6% to 695.1 trillion VND.

Major destinations, including Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Quang Ninh, Khanh Hoa and Phu Quoc, reported sustained increases in international arrivals. New destinations and experiential offerings, particularly cultural, nature-based, and green tourism products, contributed to longer visitor stays and higher spending.

Domestic tourism remained vibrant as well, with short weekend trips to destinations such as Quang Ninh, Ninh Binh and Sa Pa continuing to attract strong demand.

Travel Companies Gear Up for Peak Season

As demand climbs, travel firms are preparing intensively for the peak year-end period. Paradise Vietnam anticipates average room occupancy of around 80% in the final two months of the year. Since September, the company has recorded strong growth from key markets including Taiwan (China), Canada, India, and Spain.

Vietravel has also reported a bright outlook. According to Pham Van Bay, Deputy Director of Vietravel’s Hanoi branch, both domestic and international markets are showing robust momentum heading into the end of 2025.

To ensure service quality during the busiest period of the year, Vietravel has strengthened staffing, upgraded facilities, and enhanced its technological infrastructure. The Etour online management and tour sales platform has been improved to allow customers to search, book, track itineraries, and provide feedback more efficiently, while enabling operations teams to respond quickly during high-traffic periods.
