Tuyen Quang is emerging as a leading destination for green tourism, integrating economic growth with cultural preservation and environmental protection. Blessed with majestic landscapes, diverse ecosystems, and the cultural heritage of 22 ethnic groups, the province aims to position itself as a friendly, safe, and sustainable destination in Vietnam’s northern midlands and mountainous region.

The province has charted a “green pathway” for tourism development, focusing on eco-resorts, cultural homestays, community-based experiences, and adventure activities. One notable success is the H’Mong Village Resort in Lung Tam Commune, which earned both the VITA GREEN Eco-Tourism label and the ASEAN Green Hotel Award. The resort has created employment for more than 70 local workers and generates over VND20 billion in annual revenue.
At the same time, the Provincial Tourism Association is surveying a bamboo forest exploration route on the Dong Van Karst Plateau, while Hong Thai Commune, home to 16 accommodation facilities, welcomes tens of thousands of visitors each year. Villages such as Na Tong, Panhous, Lo Lo Chai, and Nam Dam are also successfully implementing green tourism models that preserve cultural identity while enhancing community livelihoods.

Tuyen Quang currently boasts 54 cultural and community-based tourism villages, nine of which have been rated OCOP 3-4 stars. Lo Lo Chai Village in Lung Cu Commune has been internationally recognized as one of the world’s exemplary community tourism villages for its achievements in cultural preservation, environmental stewardship, and sustainable tourism practices.
To reinforce its green vision, the province has launched various initiatives, including tree-planting activities with tourists, cycling tours, waste-free tourism programs, and community education on environmental protection. Organic agricultural products linked with tourism are also being promoted, contributing to both sustainability and local economic growth.
In the first 10 months of 2025, Tuyen Quang welcomed more than 3.2 million visitors, generating VND 8,736.9 billion in tourism revenue.
Vuong Ngoc Ha, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee, emphasized the province’s commitment to making tourism a key economic sector. He highlighted the importance of aligning sustainable development with cultural preservation, traditional festivals, and improved service quality – all aimed at establishing Tuyen Quang as a green, friendly, and culturally rich destination.
