Vietnam, 24 June 2025 – In a strategic move to boost its tourism profile, the Hanoi People’s Committee has officially partnered with Vietnam Airlines to enhance both domestic and international visitor engagement. The cooperation agreement, signed earlier this week, underscores Hanoi’s commitment to leveraging national resources and global networks to position itself more competitively in the evolving travel landscape.
At the core of the partnership is a joint effort to strengthen destination marketing, improve air connectivity, and expand tourism promotion channels—particularly abroad. Vietnam Airlines, with its extensive global reach of over 100 international routes, will play a critical role in showcasing Hanoi’s cultural richness and urban vibrancy to travelers from key markets across Asia, Europe, and beyond. Promotional content highlighting Hanoi’s festivals, heritage sites, gastronomy, and emerging experiences will feature in inflight entertainment, digital media, and cross-border campaigns spearheaded by the airline.

Meanwhile, the Hanoi Department of Tourism will work closely with Vietnam Airlines on market research and itinerary development to ensure messaging resonates with global audiences. Efforts will include co-hosting international fam trips, cultural exchange events, and roadshows in tourism source markets such as Japan, Korea, France, and Australia, where Hanoi continues to gain recognition as both a heritage capital and a modern gateway to Northern Vietnam.

The partnership also extends to infrastructure and service coordination. Vietnam Airlines will support Hanoi in organizing international events and festivals, with a focus on seamless visitor experiences from arrival to departure. In return, Hanoi’s tourism authorities will promote sustainable tourism models and smart city initiatives that align with international traveler expectations for convenience, safety, and authenticity.
This collaboration aligns with the broader strategy of Vietnam’s tourism industry to diversify its audience base and attract higher-spending, longer-staying visitors. In 2024 alone, Hanoi welcomed over 2.5 million international tourists, and with this renewed alliance, the city is targeting even stronger growth in 2025 and beyond
