Western Australia is set to host the World Travel & Tourism Council (WTTC) Global Summit next year after Perth was announced as the host destination for 2024.
Western Australia has been declared the host for the 2024 World Travel & Tourism Council’s (WTTC) Global Summit, marking a historic occasion as the event ventures into Oceania for the first time.
Scheduled for late 2024, the 24th Global Summit will take place in Perth, a partnership forged with Tourism Western Australia.
The WTTC concluded its inaugural Global Summit in Africa with over 1,200 delegates gathering in Kigali, Rwanda. The prestigious event boasted speakers like global economist Justin Urquhart-Stewart, David P. Pekoske from the United States Transport Security Administration, and Juliet Slot, the Chief Commercial Officer of Arsenal Football Club.
Drawing participants from more than 45 countries, the WTTC’s Global Summit is a premier event in the Travel & Tourism sector.
The success of this year’s Global Summit in Kigali is testament to the power of Africa’s Travel & Tourism sector. Through Rwanda, the continent has well and truly put itself on the map.
We are so excited to be heading ‘Down Under’ next year. Western Australia and the beautiful city of Perth have always been popular destinations and we’re sure attendees will enjoy a real taste of quintessential Australian hospitality.
Julia Simpson, WTTC President & CEO

According to Carolyn Turnbull, Managing Director of Tourism WA, hosting the WTTC Global Summit presents an exceptional opportunity for Western Australia to showcase its growth ambitions and investment prospects to WTTC’s influential members, including CEOs from major travel businesses.
The effect of hosting this event goes far beyond the immediate economic impact generated from delegate spend; this event will open avenues for conversation around inbound trade and product investments, new inbound aviation routes and the development of high value tourism product business opportunities.
Business delegates attending this event will be encouraged to extend their stay and explore further afield, so they can experience our dreamlike landscapes, world-class experiences, and expert tourism operators firsthand.
WWTC’s members include the CEOs of key travel businesses such as airlines, global hotel operators and investors, and cruise lines.
The WTTC Global Summit is expected to draw all WTTC members, including CEOs from prominent travel businesses like airlines, global hotel operators, investors, and cruise lines, totaling more than 500 delegates worldwide. Additionally, the summit is estimated to generate approximately $20 million in economic revenue for Western Australia.
